If you are a researcher having funding from the WACQT programme, you can join WACQT-IP. This is done by you buying shares in WACQT Researchers AB, who owns the majority of WACQT-IP (70%). You will have to sign an Option and Transfer Agreement with WACQT-IP AB.
If you become a member of WACQT-IP you will gain the following
If you are on a short-term position (e.g. Postdoc or PhD), the agreement ends when you leave, but you can still keep your shares and of course keep on gaining royalty for commercial business made on your IP.
What you lose is your teacher’s exemption for a period of five years, or as long as you are working on WACQT funding.
